4th Annual Chick's Beach Summer Sizzler

I have posted a flyer for the 4th Annual Summer Sizzler/East Coast A-Class Championship Regatta to be held July 20&21.

This event will also serve as a "test event" for a planned cash purse circuit, sailed on f-18HTs.  Prize money for this event will be $5000.

This circuit, under planning, is not intended to replace the F-18HT Circuit Championships.

How many F-18HTs are expected?  Any "big names" coming to compete for the cash?

How about offering a cash prize for the open class?

Currently nine F-18HTs are planning to attend the event, however there may be a couple more added. Randy Smyth, Matt Struble, Brian Lambert/Jamie Livingston, Peter Cogan, Ken&Ian Marshack, Chris&Jean Brown, Jason Sneed, Steve Piche/John Tomko, Hunt&Kris Stookey, and myself are all planning to compete at the Summer Sizzler!

Hans Meijer has decided that the "Gold Fleet", that is the class competing for the cash purse will be the F-18HTs. The other classes, the A-Cats and Open will enjoy the same great regatta and reggae party as in past years. The event will be filmed by a professional videography company from the air, water, and land! Come on down and be a film star! All catamaran sailors are welcome, regardless of the type of boat they chose to race!

Could the video being taken of this Summer Sizzler event find its way to television?

I just got my new Sailing World mag and the boat test on the Jav 2 is tremendous. They should make great photo ops.

Is the event on the Bay or the Ocean? I will try to make it down to watch.

Is there a way to preregister for the Summer Sizzler? Is there a discount for preregistering? Is there maximum Protsmouth handicap requirement, like they had at the Deleware Hobie Championships?

I'm looking forward to traveling to Va Beach in July.
