Apparently a couple of F-18HTs are racing in the Mug race this Saturday. I will be in Jacksonville on Friday Pm and will try to check out Saturdays start. Where and when does the start take place?
Next-Who is going to be racing F-18HTs in Deleware?? Are there any spots for crew (F-18HT) available. I am a capable crew, however I am 175lbs. Thought that I'd ask.

The start is 38 miles down the St. Johns River in Palatka. The finish is in Jax at the Rudder Club (actually a finish line somewhere near the club?). Tim Bohan, I'll be there sailing mine...

Fred,
The Mug race starts in front of the Platka Holiday Inn on Saturday morning. The RC has chosen a unique starting procedure. The boats are staggered in their starting times, based on their handicap. Slower boats start in front of faster boats. The idea is for equally sailed boats to arrive at the line together.
Does this work? I don't know. It sounds interesting though!
Tim, see you there!

I guess they take the time correction out at the start, so all boats should finish at the same instant, or, first boat across the finish line is the winner, no further time correcton? Could make it tough to pass the whole fleet if the wind is light! I hate driving in traffic! Tim F18HT USA-5
