My better half and myself recently purchased a Hobie Tiger and he loves the boat. This past weekend, he hurt his back while placing the Tiger on our trailer. He might require an operation. The boat is just too heavy!
I am trying to convince him to sell our boat and buy a lighter catamaran, like the F-18HT or Taipan 5.7. I would like to learn more about this Javelin B cat, as well as other lighter catamarans. I see that there are several male/female teams on the USA F-18HTs. Can some of the ladies give me their opinon on the F-18HT?
We are Americans living in Europe and plan to move to back to the eastern US this summer. We can easily sell our Tiger over here, so a switch to a new design is possible. My husband is a diehard Hobie sailor, but his back may be trying to tell him something.

Dear Tigress, I tried to get my wife to post but she is leaving on a trip and will be busy packing the next two days. I too sufer from occasional back problems. Lifting the 18HT is sooo easy. Normally, when picking up the I-20 I would bend my legs, grasp the hull with both hands, and struggle to lift the boat. With the HT I reach down with one arm and lift. It really makes life easier on shore. Please read my comments in a previous post for more information. I would highly recommend the boat for most male/female crews. Chris Brown F18HT #6
