18ht in Australia?

Hi there- hope this doesn't repeat, but I just got an error message, so I'm doing it again!

question relates to fact that I am keen to race a spin driven cat, but am too heavy with my crew(s) for the T4.9 I have sold this year (sob). Can't bring myself to go as heavy as the f18's... so any interest from others down here? Anyone ever hear of Boyer showing interest in the class?

I understand that Boyer is developing a F-18HT. There is no word as to when this will launch. Apparently, with the exclusion of the Capricorn F-18 by the F-18 class and political problems with Aiger (Flyer guy), the folks at AHPC are abandoning the F-18 project.

I would also be interested in a Boyer built HT.

Decided to ring boyer to find out what was going on- Ian is right, they do have plans for an 18ht, but this has to wait while they get the sprint monohull sorted out. They said maybe 12 months or so would see something happening

i am in a very similar position. i would love the taipan 4.9, but i will easily reach 160-180kg with my crews which i understand is too heavy for the 'thing'. how heavy was your combined crew weight? do you know the max. crew weigt for 18HT's?

Hello,

The optimal crew weight for the JAVELIN 2 F-18HT has not yet been determined, but most guess the OPTIMUM crew weight to be about 325-350 lbs combined. Heavy crews have reported that the boat responds well to the extra weight when the wind is up.

The optimum Crew Weight from T 4,9 is ca 130-140 kg
The optimum Crew Weight from F18ht is ca 140-170kg

The Weight from my and my Girlfrind is 150kg (330lb) great from Ventilo 18ht in Switzerland
