A few of our F-18HT class members are racing in the Hobie Mega Regatta in Fort Walton Beach Florida. It is great to see a regatta with such a tremendous response. Congradulations to the NAHCA for their success with this event.
Ken Marshack (F-18HT USA-10) is totally dominating the Hobie 18 Class with only 8pts after 7 races. Ken and his Wife Debbie have brought home the North American Title for the Hobie 18 several times before. John Tomko and Tiffany Beckwith (F-18HT USA-15) lead the large and highly competitive H-20 Class (19pts in 7 races). Brian Lambert, the defending W-1000 skipper, (F-18HT USA-16) holds down 5th place in the 20 fleet, Stuart Bernd and Ian Sammis (USA-25) are hanging in the top third of the fleet and have finished in 3rd place in a couple of races.
With these kind of results by fleet members in the Hobie MEGA Regatta, combined with the likes of Randy Smyth, Matt Struble, Chris Brown and others, we can look forward to a very competitive upcoming season and North Americans in Key Largo!
I wish continued good luck to the racers in Fort Walton Beach this week.
Sail Fast and Light,
W.F.
See you in Key Largo!
