Hello dear 18HT catsailor-friends Last week the starting assemble of the new Swiss 18HT Catamaran Class Association took place in Bern, Switzerland. 17 Catsailors found their way to Bern, super ! Already 12 Swiss catsailing teams announced themselves and many others are very interested in the class and the 18 HT Cat. By the end of 2004, probably fifteen 18HT Teams will have joined the class. Also catsailors from other catclasses and our friends from Germany showed great interest and engaged themselves as passive members. Already 3 producers of 18HT Cats have engaged themselves as passive member. What brings the future ? We will set up a mail list and a web-site with informations about the 18HT Cat and the class. We will present the constructors, explain the maesurment regulation and bring catsailing- and catamaran trim tips. We will present cat tests and start a photogalery of the Swiss 18HT Cat teams. In 2005 there will take place a training week-end, perhaps even a training week together with catsailors from other classes. A regatta calendar for 2005 together with the Int. 18HT Class. And last but not least sponsors will be contacted and reduction negociations with producers of sailing gear and accessories will be taken up. All of this voluntary and without competition, according the slogan of the class : "sail fast and light" We are happy, that over half of the teams are mixed. 18HT sailing is no macho buisiness. With cat-greatings from the Swiss 18HT Catamaran Association. www.volvento.chwww.goeast.ch/ost/www.speedysailing.ch.vu/www.realhomepage.de/members/Need4Speed/

Congratulations this sounds great.
Building a class takes a lot of effort from members - Keep it up over there and we will keep it up over here.
