I'm thinking of experimenting with weightjackets, as me and my wife weigh only 110kg.
is it legal (for races)? expiriences? models, manufactors?
Thanks in advance for any kind of input!

I have experience with a weightjacket which needed to be filled with water.
I own such a jacket and bought it for singlehanded sailing of my P16 and hopefully my P18.
It needed to be filled with water and that way only added some 4 kg's to my weight.
The reason for filling it with waater is that it won't pull you down when you fall into the lake or sea. Neutral bouyancy.
Personally I have never used it much as I found it cumbersome and in my case unnecessary; I'm 80 kg's
I didn't notice any overall positive effect it was mostly in the way of my trapeze harness.
When looking at lead jackets be sure to get a more bouyant bouyance aid (lifevest) because this will pull you down.
Another thing I found is that climbing back on board was awkward. But then again such a water jacket has considerable volume too.

Weight jackets are not legal under the ISAF rules.
