We have an opportunity to Exhibit the F-18HT at the Newport International Boat Show, Sept 12-15 in Newport RI. We can take the lead, but we will need some help manning the exhibit.
This is a big, on the land and in the water boat show, and draws a huge and diverse crowd. It would be a great place for us to show the boat, both to the trade press, and to potential owners. Also, this will follow a piece on the boat in SailingWorld, so the timing is great --people will have read the piece and now they can see/sail the boat!
I am still negotiating our placement, but one option would be at the top of the ramp to the docks where the larger cats will be. That will ensure a lot of traffic. We envision having a rigged boat, literature (including our schedule / Worrell selection, etc.), and potentially a video loop from the Summer Sizzler.
It would be awesome if we could get someone to bring another boat so that we could take prospects for a spin (we did that when the Melges24 was new and sold a couple boats right then) - We can do even better with the F-18HT!
Please let me know if you might be able / willing to help (we can house anyone who wants to participate)- I just want to guage support for this before I commit to the show. Unfortunately, it conflicts w/ the A-Class Worlds in Martha's Vineyard.

Hunt and other class members,
First, I would like to thank Hunt for his enthusiam and willingness to use his boat and help man the Newport Boatshow. I will take care of the show entry fee. We will need some other people to help man the show. Like Hunt pointed out, the A-Cat Worlds take place at the same time, so Peter Cogan and myself will be racing there and not available. Will some other class members or volunteers step up?
I hope to have the video from the Summer Sizzler ready for use at the show, along with some brochures and posters. Any other help would make this opportunity even better and is welcome.
Contribution from our membership, like this idea from Hunt, is exactly what is making our class grow and prosper. Keep up the good work.

Any boatshows that the class can get boats into will be beneficial. Has anyone considered the Annapolis Boatshow in October?
